BAU was selected by the PA Department of General Services and Conservation and Natural Resources to renovate seven historic farm buildings located throughout the park including the Dairy Barn and Farm Steads. The buildings were built between 1764 and 1914 and are under the review of the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission. The park is owned by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, operated by the DCNR Bureau of State Parks and managed locally by Montgomery County Department of Parks. The farm was originally part of the Norristown State Hospital and used until 1950 for patient rehabilitation and activities.
